Family-Run Tbilisi Apartments to Let. Since 2013
We specialise in monthly and long-term accommodation for expats and city visitors in Tbilisi
Azia House was conceived from the idea of bringing to rural Georgia an escape retreat—a place to reconnect with the land and appreciate an organic, slower pace of life.
We are rebuilding and restoring a traditional Georgian house with a modern take, keeping it in harmony with both the traditional architecture and the surroundings, while also providing the modern comforts needed to retreat, escape, and create.
I’m Tamara from Tbilisi, currently living in the UK with my young children, who are half Georgian and half Scottish. I’ve been running a family hospitality business in Tbilisi for 14 years, and my next project is to open our Imereti home to artists, writers, and anyone wishing to experience an alternative way of living. I always imagine people growing their herbs, tending the garden, and baking bread in a traditional Tone oven.
This project is part of the vision of my eccentric late husband, Alan, who brought a certain British–Scottish eccentricity to all our homes, restored many of our properties by hand — including beautifully carved Georgian balconies — and was determined to preserve the spirit of these places for anyone who wished to experience the culture in its real environment.
Our hamlet of Bori is in the heart of the Imereti region, near Zestaponi, and just 40 minutes from Kutaisi International Airport.
I look forward to bringing that vision to life up in the mountains and welcoming anyone who wants to reconnect with nature, smell the herbs, and pick the veg for dinner.
